The Marching Virginians are no strangers to fundraising, as we are most known for being high participants in H4TH, Hokies4TheHungry. However, we’ve added a new initiative within the past 2 years, known as M4P, Marchin’ for Parkinson’s. Additionally, we’re not the only group participating this year in the initiative for funding Parkinson’s research as we’ve extended our interests to the Highty-Tighties who are competing with their own sections for the donation incentives!
Donation incentives for fundraising by section this year include:

Anyone who raises $10 by Friday, November 5th (today) will get a super duper cool button!
The top three individuals will each get their own homemade pumpkin pie (or another sweet treat if you don't like/can't eat pumpkin pie) AND get to pie some super special members of leadership in the face!!
The section with the highest amount raised per person will get individual slices of pie (or another treat).
For those that participated in the flash bingo board challenge that lasted through Sunday, October 31st, the incentives were the following:
Getting a B-I-N-G-O delivered you candy throughout rehearsals this past week.
Getting your bingo board blacked out allowed people to choose a song to play before practice each day this past week.
M4P was started by recent graduate, Ashlyn McDonald when she was a senior Drum Major within the MVs during their 2019-2020 season.
“We always participate in a big fundraiser within The MVs, and I think the Michael J. Fox Foundation is doing a lot of great work towards understanding more about Parkinson’s Disease and researching new techniques and medicines. We also had a great success with it in 2019, so I thought it would be fun to do it again!”

For those still needing to join the team as donations have been extended through Sunday, November 7th, here are the instructions to sign-up:
Head to the following website: https://www.michaeljfox.org/be-fundraiser
Click 'Sign up.'
Click 'Register' under Team Fox 2021.
Enter all required info (email, name, password).
Continue on to the next page and enter the rest of the required information (address, opt in/out of emails, your personal goal, connection to Parkinson's, DOB). At the bottom of the page, join the team 'Marchin' for Parkinson's'.
Click next and complete registration.
