Giving Day is one of the most important events for the Marching Virginians. Each year we use your donations to build our halftime shows through new sheet music, new instruments, and instrument refurbishing. It also helps us expand our outreach and involvement with programs like Hokies4TheHungry and Marchin’ for Parkinson’s.
Your donations have the following impact:
A pair of MV sunglasses: $5
Drill reading App for one student: $20
An MV ballcap: $25
Lunch for one student for the season: $75
Basic instrument cleaning at the end of the season: $150
A new stand tune: $500
A new Piccolo: $1000
A halftime show: $6000
A new Tuba: $9000
Tuba lessons for the Dean: Priceless!
As the leading group in donations for the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences, the Marching Virginians take pride in holding that #1 spot. We ask that you donate on February 23rd between noon and 1 p.m. to help us achieve a donation from the college for the most amount of donations during that time. It’s not about the amount you donate, it’s about the amount of people who donate. Again, if we win this challenge, we will receive money from the college!
Plus, if you decide to donate, we have an amazing selection of prizes:
Each donation receives a Marching Virginians sticker.
Anyone who donates over $50, receives a Marching Virginians car magnet.
During the first hour of giving (noon to 1 p.m.), all donators will be entered into a raffle for a beanie, an MV keychain, or Dave Bobblehead. Donate during this time to be one of the lucky 15 raffle winners!
As for the rest of Giving Day, all donators will be entered into a raffle for a beanie, an MV keychain, or Dave Bobblehead, but only 15 will be chosen to win!
Giving Day is also an opportunity to give back to an organization that brought so much joy and thoughtful experiences about music to our members and their supporters.
You can also support the MVs by liking the this video on Facebook. The group that maintains the most likes on the video wins a bonus $1,250 towards their donations. All you have to do is like the post!
Don’t miss out on this once in a lifetime chance to support these talented musicians.
